Review of Snow Angels (2007) by Erling K — 05 Jan 2009
I heard a positive review about this small indie movie a while ago, but kind of forgot about it and never heard any more about it. It's on DVD now, and really worth checking out. It lacks some star power for it's name to get really out there, but it does have recognizable actors (Kate Beckinsale, Sam Rockwell, Amy Sedaris.
..etc). It starts off as kind of as an everyday subtle humor look at this group of characters that are connected to each other. You get a glimpse of who they are, but then a big plot twist occurs and the true nature of who they are and how they feel are revealed.
The film then goes to this dark truth about the characters. It's a really well written and acted film that reminded me a little bit of The Ice Storm. It was a great film, and I think one of the best of the year.
Essential Recommendation!
