Review of Slippery Slope (2006) by Sean C — 25 Nov 2009
Tell me if you've heard this one before? Strapped for cash? Lets get involved in making a porno! Zack and Miri did it so much better and with more laughs. With Slippery Slope the joke is that a feminist desperate to get money to buy her film so she can show it at Cannes, overlooks her ideology and directs a porno to get the money she needs.
Tonally the movie is all over the shop. It doesnt know if it wants to be a feminist rant or a comedy and it ends up sitting in a slightly squidgy mess of both. The acting is variable and some of the earlier scenes play very amateurishly.
In fact some of the 'all men are shit' stuff that flows through the first segment - only to be completely forgotten later on - leaves a nasty taste in the mouth by being so sweeping.
