Review of Sleep Tight (2011) by Dickie L — 14 Jul 2012
They don't get much creepier than this. The concierge of a Spanish apartment building takes liberties with his access to the tenants, to say the least, in this very well made suspenser. No-one does menace better than Luis Tosar, and he's never been better than he is here.
His character's obsession with one of the tenants in particular, and the lengths that he goes to to infiltrate her life, is the driving force of the narrative. Its a disturbing story, and as directed by Jaume Balaguero (REC and REC 2), its quite nerve-shredding.
Dark, twisted and rather sad. Not the full horror affront of his earlier films, but a more character-driven psychological thriller. If ever a film will have you checking under the bed before you turn in for the night, its this one.
