Review of Slacker (1990) by Miss Chanandler B — 30 Jul 2012
A brilliant little indie film from Linklater, the man behind the fantastic 'School Of Rock'. Also the film Kevin Smith frequently claims is the film that made him make 'Clerks'. 'Clerks' is better by the way.
Slacker has a fantastic script that makes you think of the work of 'Woody Allen' and some of the best characters that you like (or hate in equal measures) even in the very short space of time they each have on screen. The way each story is intertwined with the last is brilliantly pulled off and the whole thing reads like a fantastic set of short stories.
The whole thing was a whole lot better than I thought it would be, the cast, directing and dialogue was spot on, certainly a film that makes you want to make films. Watch this, watch Clerks. See what you think.
