Review of Sir! No Sir! (2005) by Jared L — 30 Sep 2007
This film provides a detailed account of the largely forgotten anti-war movement among men and women of the military. The film covers the military's anti-war radio stations, coffeehouses, publications, organizations and more.
It also focuses on the Black Power aspects of anti-war resistance. The movement gave people a sense that they could stop the lies and be a part of a bigger movement with the possibility for change. This film not only interrogates the construction of the memory of Vietnam by conservative hawks, but it gives hope that the same kind of anti-war movement could arise today.
