Review of Shut Up and Play the Hits (2012) by Robert W — 21 Aug 2012
Amazing concert film that takes the perspective of LCD Soundsystem leader James Murphy as the band prepares, plays and reflects on its monumental final show. Intimate, bombastic and uplifting all at the same time.
Through its narrative and film style, "Shut Up and Play The Hits" puts you in Murphy's shoes as he goes through the week leading up to and day following the show while intercutting with some of the performances from the night.
At first viewing as a fan of both LCD Soundsystem and good films, it's easy to recommend.
