Review of Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi (2012) by Eric G — 04 Sep 2012
This could be an overworked Hollywood comedy, one of those where everything is exaggerated and gets tiring after the 20 minutes because of the cliches. This is a missed opportunity. The film could have been a lot more subtle and explore the theme of the disappearing parsee community in India in a more intelligent manner.
Not much to get except a few laughs. The grandmother is the most interesting of them all, breaking taboos and non PC. Interesting that the role of the troublemaker and reformer is given to the old generation.
