Review of Sherlock Holmes (2010) by Derek W — 29 Sep 2012
I have seen a great many Sherlock Holmes movies and programmes from Rathbone and Stock to Sherlock the superb television series without a shadow of a doubt this is the worst. Such special effects as they are would disgrace sixties TV and the plot has more holes than fishnet stockings.
There are elementary mistakes through the film Holmes and Watson have moved house to 221Baker Street from as everybody apart from the director is aware 221B Holmes is charmed by using a telephone to converse with Watson yet is oblivious to the 1990's intercom at his front door.
When Watson climbs down a cliff which varies in height according to shot the rope changes at least four times varying from what appears to be thick parcel string to hemp tow rope to terylene climbing rope.
Defys belief ? yes it does - that this should see the light of day.
