Review of Shark Attack 2 (2000) by Dave C — 12 Jun 2007
The sharks that were experimented on in the first film have now bred and we have now have a new batch of killer sharks. With dialogue borrowed from the Jaws films and several scenes copied from the Jaws films including the starting sequence with two divers exploring a shipwreck, an aquarium wanting to keep a Great White in captivity.
Not forgetting the mayor that ignores our hero's warnings regarding the sharks and decides not to close the beach. Then to round things off there is the famous Jwas forward tracking zoom out shot used as hero sits on the beach as the shark arrives.
As a shark film goes it is an improvement on the first, and the effects are better this time around although it still contains several stock footage shots of sharks, the characters are better although still fit into the expected stereotypes.
