Review of Séraphine (2008) by Clayton W — 24 Jan 2010
Yolande Moreau is mesmerizing in the title role of Seraphine, a moving portrait of an artist. Moreau's role is largely silent, but she makes the most of every moment with perfect facial expressions and line delivery.
Her supporting cast is spot-on, as well. Seraphine is slowly paced, but the strong, often funny writing carries it through the patches that border on boring. Good cinematography, as well.
