Review of September (2007) by John T — 30 Mar 2008
Coming of age movie about the friendship between two boys on a wheat farm in Western Australia. One boy is the son of european farmer the other the son of a the aboriginal worker on the farm.
Film explores the external pressures on the boys friendship. One of them the political pressure caused by a law change that means aboriginal workers must be paid the same as white workers and one caused by a girl of the same age who befriends the white boy.
Great cinematography. Lots of limited depth shots panning to the golden field and bright sun and sky.
