Review of Secret Honor (1984) by Darren B — 16 Jun 2010
Philip Baker Hall is too damn good in this. A one man show of him spewing venom for 90 minutes. Its just mind blowing watching a lifetime worth of repressed feelings coming to the surface so fast that he's saying four different things in one sentence.
Hate to be that guy but this is one of the best performances i've ever seen. The camera work is very impressive and they catch some interesting shots, the one where Hall leans over and the poster of Lincoln looks over him is great! It is absolutely ridiculous that it took 12 years after this was made for Philip Baker Hall to get another quality starring role.
