Review of Sauna (2008) by Jonathan B — 07 Oct 2008

Looks stunning, sounds great and is well acted (with the exception of the horrible little kid), but is building momentum and tension to a conclusion that never comes. The resolution is sloppy and comes out of the blue - as if the movie ran head first into a brick wall, in which the bricks were made of stupid.

Nevertheless, it's strangely compelling and miles better than any other Finnish film to come out this year.
