Review of Samurai Assassin (1965) by Martin T — 28 Oct 2009
The tragic twist is fairly predictable, and I found the first half of the film to be a little rough going... occasionally slow and occasionally confusing. Otherwise, a pretty good yarn with another intense Mifune performance.
The framing is impeccable, with compositions worthy of Kurosawa or Mizoguchi.
