Review of Salaam Bombay! (1988) by Darius K — 15 Oct 2007
Mira Nair's explosion into mainstream cinema reveals a young boy lost in the fringes of Bombay. Following the French "New Wave" style, this film is very reminiscent to Truffaut's "The 400 Blows".
Raw, witty, and tragic, this film is a classic when it comes to the portrayal of India's social problems.
