20+ years ago, Mira Nair dedicated a movie for the homeless children in the streets of Bombay which was outright realistic n less-cheesy to the much hyped Slumdog Millionaire. I would say this was a toughest movie to direct.
Dark n gritty set, realistic characterization and the endless emotional quotient. A powerful debut from Mira Nair. Great Watch.
