The most effective way of storytelling for a drama is to capture people's hearts through relationships. In "Sad Movie" the director introduces us to 4 seperate relationships that are struggling.
Throughout the film the director keeps a steady flow of healing leading viewers to believe that each relationship is only going to take a turn for the better.... the selling point is the climax... all four relationships end in peril, the characters we have fallen in love with are all put into the worst situations possible.
.. thus... SAD MOVIE. My hat down to the director, I haven't been so emotionally touched in awhile.
