Review of Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage (2010) by Jeff P — 30 Nov 2010
Wow! What an amazing documentary on the greatest "Cult" band in the world...from their early days in the 60's, the archival footage and interviews offer a unique insight into the lives of "Rush" band mates Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart.
Rush's sales statistics place them third behind The Beatles and The Rolling Stones for the most consecutive gold or platinum studio albums by a rock band. After After more than 35 years of music, they still continue to explore new avenues of progressive rock sounds.
..2112 and Hemispheres were 2 of my favorite albums (yep, albums back then) and the songs "The Trees" and "La Villa Strangiato" still rock out and speak certain metaphors in those lyrics today.
