Review of Running Time (1997) by P B — 26 Sep 2007
Excellent wee black and white heist movie starring Bruce "The Fucking Don" Campbell.
66 minutes long, and purported to have been shot in one take (though, in reality, there are around 30 well hidden cuts), this is a clever little indie film, with great acting, snappy dialogue, and some truly funny and touching moments.
I feel that this film pulls off its gimmick much better than the film which inspired it, Hitchcock's 'Rope'. This is probably because the frenetic robbery lends itself incredibly well to the real time format.
If you're a fan of indie cinema, quirky films or even just of Bruce Campbell, you should check this out.
