Review of Running on Empty (1982) by Ed K — 24 Dec 2008
I personally like this movie a lot because the story is very similar to my current life (except my parents aren't fugitives...lol). River gave his best performances in three movies...this being one, and the other two are My Own Private Idaho and Mosquito Coast, and he was nominated for best supporting actor for Gloden Globe and the Academy Award in 1989; if you've seen the movie, it's not hard to tell why.
... I literally almost cried at the end when his family left him.... Great movie, if you haven't seen it, you should....
