Review of Rubber (2010) by Alex V — 25 Jul 2011
The hook is that it's movie about a telekinetic tire on a murdering rampage. But the absurd concept doesn't stop there. 'Rubber' smashes the 4th wall to smithereens by including an onscreen audience that is very much a part of the story. It poses the question, "If the audience isn't there to see the movie, does the movie happen?". I very much enjoyed this aspect. Without it, 'Rubber' could have easily become a film with an over-stretched premise about people having their heads exploded by a tire. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
--8.0/10--.
