Review of Rosewater (2014) by Alex S — 19 Nov 2014
This is an interesting movie and a nice debut for Jon Stewart. If he continues to direct movies I think he has a nice opener to a career as a director. The cast does a great job especially the interrogator Kim Bodnia.
Gael does a nice job as well. What I wanted more of from this movie is more of what the Americans were doing while this was going on. I know the movie is focused on Gael's character but it would have been more nice to see his wife trying to figure out how to get him out.
The interrogation scenes sometimes lacked fear for his life but they are written well. Stewart adapted this from a book and he did a nice job writing it. Overall, it is interesting and makes you want to read up more on this guy.
