Review of Roman (2006) by Erik O — 24 Jun 2008
The biggest problem with 'Roman' is that it feels like a student film in every aspect - especially the grainy digital photography and uneven performances. Lucky McKee (who made an impressive directorial debut with the similarly-themed 'May', starring 'Roman' director Angela Bettis') isn't quite able to cary the film with his performance, and there were a few too many songs on the soundtrack, sometimes making it seem like a music video.
That said, if it were a student film, it would be a damn good one.
