Review of Roma (2018) by Gia S — 05 Jan 2019
Where do we truly come from? How does one portray their entire childhood and celebrate the people in it who loved them through a flawless piece of cinema? The answer is Roma, a personal epic set in 1970s Mexico City that restores old memories with present-day clarity, explores intimate perspectives with serene long shots, and conveys ordinary life with sweeping grandeur.
Gorgeous, Powerful, and masterfully crafted, Roma is simply one of the best films I have ever seen and cements Alfonso Cuarón's status as one of the most brilliant directors of our era.
