Review of River (2016) by Sam M — 25 Aug 2018
River is quite an achievement in independent filmmaking. The film has a solid story with an amazing subplot that tip toes on almost stealing the show. The actors are not your Hollywood big names, but the directors work with what they had.
A great exchange between two priests will give you actual chills. Along with some really nice camera work this film will satisfy the most hardcore fans of the genre. This film will surprise you with its fearlessness, but be advised, this is film is not for the meek.
River is a true, hard representation of life on the border that holds nothing back. A big budget film with disposable income would've received fewer stars, but this film seemed to put everything it had into this production.
Five stars because we deserve more films like this!
