Review of Rigor Mortis (2013) by Jason K — 05 Oct 2014
Style over substance, but for the most part it's a pretty good display of style, despite the sometimes irritating plot holes and Mak's hyperventilating attempt to cram various ideas and styles into the frame.
The traditional Chinese vampire gets an update and becomes quite the creepy and scary monster. Nina Paw is the one stand-out actress whose humanistic and genuinely moving performance lends an unexpected depth to what should just be a popcorn summer blockbuster film.
