Review of Rhythm on the River (1940) by Aj V — 27 Aug 2010
Delightfully innocent Bing Crosby vehicle (with songs by Johnny Burke and Jimmy Monaco, the best being the Academy Award winning Only Forever)and co-written by Billy Wilder. The film plays like a rehersal for1942's Holiday Inn and support provided by Mary Martin and Basil Rathone, though the film is very nearly stolen by Oscar Levant.
