Review of Revenge of the Dead (1959) by David H — 05 Jul 2010
One of Wood's most entertaining films, filled with awful comedy, cheesy effects, bad acting and a script that bounces around from one perspective to another and is filled with heavy-handed dialog. Still, it's a lot of fun, and Wood sure knew how to come up with fun ideas for stories, even if their execution never matched his imagination.
Night of the Ghouls does contain one very effectively creepy scene involving Duke Moore investigating what he thinks is a embalmed corpse. It's brief but it's creepy in a delightful way. The rest of the film is pure Ed Wood fun.
