Review of Real Life (1979) by Zane T — 06 Apr 2011
While not as consistently funny as his later films, there's a TON of brilliance at play here. The special cameras, Brooks's narration, and the ending - my GOD, how I howled at the final scene. As the GONE WITH THE WIND theme soared, I realized I was watching something truly wonderful.
It's uneven, sure, but the highs more than make up for the dull spots.
