Review of Ran (1985) by Bolaji L — 27 Nov 2009
Shakespearean drama in the timeline of feudal Japan, ran is one of the few masterpieces in recent times that can stand up above the others and join fabled films such as Citizen Kane. It's camerawork, acting, music, sets and costumes are all beautifully shot and interwoven perfectly with the pace of the film and its dialouge.
Ran is Kurosawa's best film which he directed at the age of 75, and stills holds up to this day. I can recommened to anyone this movie if they wanted a list of top 5 greatest films ever made.
