Review of Rammbock: Berlin Undead (2010) by Kevin B — 29 Jun 2011
A "zombie" movie that doesn't suck. It has a sense of humor without being a "wacka wacka--aren't we kooky?" type of comedy, and it has some good terror moments as well. That is, it comes across as expecting that its audience has a sophisticated sense of humor and half a brain.
Are you listening, Hollywood? I might have rated it higher if it had been a bit more substantial (the credits begin to roll before the 60 min mark), but as an episode or slice-of-life-during-a-homicidal-virus-outbreak it works.
Note: the "Undead" tacked onto the American release seems inaccurate as the monsters are 28 Days Later-style "infected", not Romeroesque zombies.
