Review of Rai (1995) by Kalicia C — 03 Feb 2010
Anybody who's trying to quit an addictive drug should maybe watch this.
5 stars for making a movie that depicted drugs (showing its true harmful nature) far better than perhaps any Hollywood thus so far by showing this issue in its true light, through the good and the bad. An issue that almost every American has endured in one way or another that has yet to be captured on film in this manner until now.
And how maybe men treat/think of women today; the inherent problem and yearning that every man has but can only come to fruition when the chance is given and if the man is "cripple." Giving into lust when attaining alpha male dominance. With drugs playing into making us feel superior and god-like to the point where Ray would habitually cheated on his wife and eventually get high in front of his kids. Which tied into his blindness. I would love to go on more, maybe later.
