Review of Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure (1977) by Suzana M — 02 Jul 2011
At times Raggedy Ann is dark, trippy, or just odd, though these moments may slip past the younger viewers as simply being silly. At other times it is endearing and cute. The story is a mash up of disjointed scenarios that feel surreal but can be interesting.
The songs are serviceable, but unmemorable. The animation is very impressive, though inconsistent. The characters are all very fun and interesting if not a bit creepy (the Greedy and the twin dolls, in particular).
In all, it's no Toy Story, but it got the concept down first and it is fun at times.
