I loved "Proud Mary"! As a fan of the "John Wick" series, I am glad to see a black woman given the chance to be sexy, kind, fearless, and over the top violent, for a change. Taraji brought the same blend of tough chick with a heart of gold she brings to Empire, but this time she is not bound to any one man.
Love It! This was far better than "Atomic Blond", and left me speculating about the sequel in a way "Atomic" did not. I want to know what Mary is going to do next. Is she going to train her protegee to follow in her footsteps? Is she going to face retribution for her actions? I love the sets and the wardrobe in this film, so I really want to see what fabulous new digs Mary will create in "Proud Mary II".
Ignore the critics on this one and go for the fun, the action, and most importantly -- THE CULTURE.
