Review of Proud Mary (2018) by Natalie B — 17 Jan 2018

Was this move the best action film ever? No. Was it even the best movie these collective actors have been in? Definitely not. But it sure as heck doesn't deserve an overwhelming amount of the harsh critiques it's been getting.

Taraji, remains the best thing about the film, Jahi Di'Allo Winston coming in close second. A great disservice to the film remains the lack of press by any source other than the actors themselves, and somewhat false advertising in the trailer itself.

What is shown as your standard action-thriller winds up being more of a dramatic thriller with some lightly seasoned action scenes throughout. In the end, I enjoyed the film. And to be honest, if a disjointed, overly exaggerated film like Bright can get sequel.

.. so can Proud Mary.
