Review of Polyester (1981) by Tonje F — 28 Aug 2007
Wonderful film! Although Odorama probably would have made the movie more of an experience to watch, Waters story of troubled suburban housewife Francine, played with grace and subversive hilarity by the magnificent Divine, is both a warm and comic film, with lighting effects that create mood and highlight Divine's unconventional screen presence.
Edith Massey, in her last onscreen role, is charming and hilarious as Cuddles. "It's these terrible Baltimore public schools. God, I wish I lived in Connecticut!" Couldn't have said it better myself.
