Review of Pokémon Detective Pikachu (2019) by Lbxzero — 10 May 2019
For a live-action movie adaptation of a video game franchise, Detective Pikachu does a great job making the pokemon real while trying to fit a more reasonable story in a game-physics-based world. I find only 1 section of the film needed more writing work, but it doesn't wreck the film if corrected.
Overall, it is impressive work, a decent mystery, and a touching story.
