Some may find this movie longish. I thought it was great. Very spare treatment of post cultural revolution China. Zhang Ke Jia adeptly handles the portrait of socio-economic shifts from the perspective of a troupe of traveling perfomers as China begins to transform.
Is art inherently counter cultural? Is capitalism a vital part of positive change?
