Review of Pippin (1981) by Edith N — 28 May 2013
As much as I love "Godspell" and "Wicked," Pippin is composer/lyricist Stephen Schwartz most underrated musical. It is a show filled with incredible Fosse choreography, dynamite energy, flawless and enjoyable music, and great performances from the cast.
The incomparable Ben Vereen steals the show as the Leading Player. But in the end, the story is relatable and deep. Seminal musical theatre!
