Review of Pin (1988) by Andrea B — 29 Dec 2007
A horror movie that should be considered a cult classic, and it's Canadian. David Hewlett is so wonderful as the cold, disassociated, paranoid-schizophrenic Leon. Leon and his sister Ursella are raised by an obsessive-compulsive mother and a father that has mental health issues of his own.
The father is a Dr. and can only show affection via a teaching dummy that he has in his office. Leon continues to believe that PIN (the dummy) is real even after the parents die in a car accident. Leon uses PIN as his alter-ego and the movie becomes deliciously evil.
You even see a nurse being intimate with the dummy and hear Leon's crazy poetry. A wild movie.
