Review of Penny Dreadful (2006) by James B — 30 Apr 2007

A nice little horror film. I was truly taken by surprise with this one. It's part urban legend, part scream queen showcase. It was part of the after dark horrorfest which took place last year, it's an interesting look at what would happen if you have to have to confront your worst fear under the worst possible circumstances.

This movie was scary at times, but also part tongue-in cheek at times, which is probably why I liked it. It may not be for everyone since it takes place largely (like 60% ) in a car that's trapped in the woods, but I can't recall any other horror movie that took an idea like this to the max in this way.
