Review of Parents (1989) by Joshua R — 20 Jun 2007
When I first saw this it freaked the shit out of me. The story is told from a child's point of view of his parents, adults, food and life in the suburbias in the 50's. Randy Quaid is the creepy father that works at a nuclear power plant.
His son is served leftovers for dinner almost everyday, until his curiosity reveals secrets he'd be happier not knowing. Superbly filmed and acted, this little film deserves a thumbs up for originality.
It kind of has a Lynch like feeling and look to it. Directed by Bob Balaban.
