Review of Papadopoulos & Sons (2012) by Eric G — 15 Apr 2013
I wonder whether critics blindly supports independent cinema sometimes. I was very disappointed. Yes, it's a limited budget, a good idea and a sweet topical story... but the film is deeply flawed and frustrating to watch.
It painfully lacks pace and feels it's shot in slow motion. I constantly wanted to press a "faster button". It's not just the direction that is problematic but also the acting. The family doesn't feel like.
.. well a family, but like actors called to play a part. What needs to be applauded though is the risk that Cineworld took to distribute a small film that doesn't have a distributor.
