Review of Overnight (2003) by James E — 03 Oct 2007
'There's more than one way to shoot yourself in Hollywood.'.
Essential viewing for anyone who harbours dreams of working in Hollywood. Barman Troy Duffy's story is the Hollywood dream come true - A film contract with Miramax on a script he penned, a record deal for his band "The Brood", even the bar he was working at is thrown in to the deal.
Then, sit back and watch Duffy irrovocably screw up every opportunity he had, every relationship in his life (including his immediate family), before getting himself blacklisted in both the Movie and music industries. A cautionary tale that should be made a pre-requisite for every film course at every film school in the world. Mesmerising.
