Review of Otis (2008) by William G — 05 Jul 2008
It's interesting what happens when you make a torture-porn movie that in and of itself makes fun of torture-porn movies. You get something that not only evokes the necessary cringes, butkeeps things light enough that you don't leave feeling like you've completely wasted the last 90 minutes.
Eli Roth could take a hint from Krantz and not take himself so damned seriously all the time. Aside from that, Bostin Christopher's titular character is one of the most realistic, and most sympathetic, sociopaths to come around in a long, long time.
