Review of Onibaba (1964) by Hannah M — 05 Jan 2012
Even though many would say this movie tends to drag its feet at the beginning, it never ceases being beautiful and mesmerizing. The setting is absolutely stunning and the long takes of the two main women as they struggle from day to day is unrelenting and fantastic.
I saw the last few minutes of this on a movie station over a year ago and since then I have not been able to forget it. Now that I have watched it in its entirety I believe it to be a haunting and lovely film.
