Review of Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less (1990) by Mohamed K — 10 Feb 2008
Light-hearted adaptation of the Jeffrey Archer novel, with Ed Asner as an investment crook who cheats four men out of their savings. The men conspire to get their money back in a range of stings, each playing on Asners weaknesses.
Humorously handled by director Donner, with location filming in England and France (the UK doubled for the US). Begley leads the cast well and Agutter shows she ages more slowly than is humanly possible, but this is really Asners gig.
The man lights up the screen each time, showing his range far better than the four goodies, dAbo or Agutter.
