Review of Nixon (1995) by Jared B — 05 Jun 2007
Oliver Stone did take a lot of artistic license in this movie, creating many composite scenes and characters. Not necessarily the story of Nixon's life, more an essay on the lessons of Nixon, and the lessons of the American political landscape of the 1960's and 1970's.
I often think of this as a sequel to Stone's "JFK." Both films present the idea that forces beyond the control of even Presidents dominate American political and economic life and when rattled, that system can bring down even presidencies.
