Review of Newton (2017) by Anuradha S — 02 Oct 2017
Really enjoyed the movie, it showed an India which is just 2 hr away from most of our homes but we are not aware or don't want to be aware of (well an extreme version of India anyway). The movie is light-hearted almost till the end, relying on humor to tell the story.
The many colorful characterizations and there portrayed are perfect. The way the direction captures each of these characters is superb, they each have a quirk making them an Indian at heart. The ending did feel it went overboard, showing a too cynical view, a bit too anti-nationalist the way they showed the army, still enjoyed watching the movie.
Lots of great one-liners to remember the movie by. Kudos to Pankaj Tripathi & Raghuvir Yadav, real show stealers.
