Review of Newlyweds (2011) by Jim L — 20 Feb 2013
Burns films remind me of Allen films. It makes sense seeing as Burns is a huge Allen fan. Both often use the streets of NYC as a backdrop (although Allen has ventured off to filming in Europe), and both love creating dialogue driven (read: "talky") films.
Though Burns' films are not as good as Allen's are. I still find some of them enjoyeable and real (though chaotic). Newlyweds is one of the better Burns films I have seen in a while.
